Deborah Bross, MD, is the winner of the 2023 Alton Memorial Hospital Chairman’s Award. Dr. Bross won based on nominations submitted by employees and her fellow physicians.

Alton Memorial Hospital is among the first ambulance services in the region to carry “leave-behind” Narcan for patients as well as patients’ families when responding to an overdose call.

Thanks to a successful grant request, the Women’s Health and Childbirth Center at Alton Memorial Hospital received more than $73,000 this year to help make sure that pregnant and postpartum women facing health inequities due to social and economic factors receive the help they need. Kathy Alford-Spitze is the peer recovery specialist added to the staff.
