AMH has begun using stroke telemedicine to receive direct care consults for complicated stroke patients. Phone, Internet and video conferencing allows Stroke Network neurologists and radiologists to be “remotely present” at distant hospitals.

The mission of Alton Memorial Hospital extends well beyond the campus at 1 Memorial Drive. Alex Campbell, EMS coordinator for AMH, serves as the liaison between first responders to the hospital and the Illinois Department of Public Health. He is also the hospital resource to more than 35 agencies.
