Dr. Bross is associate director of the SIU School of Medicine Alton Family Medicine Residency at AMH. She received the award from Gary Ayres, chairman of the AMH board of directors, at a physicians’ event held at City Museum on March 14.
“I am honored to be this year’s recipient of the Chairman’s Award,” says Dr. Bross. “Being included amongst the physicians nominated and previous awardees is extraordinarily humbling. Both groups contain exceptional individuals devoted to providing the best care possible to our community.”
“Dr. Bross is very deserving of this honor,” says Gary Ayres, chairman of the Alton Memorial board of directors. “This is always a great honor for a doctor since nominations come from their peers along with hospital employees who work together every day to improve the health of the communities we serve. Each of the nominated physicians is a well-respected member of the AMH team. On behalf of the board of directors and staff, I thank each of them for their commitment.”
Dr. Bross earned her medical degree at the SIU School of Medicine in Springfield in 1993.
“It’s great to see Dr. Bross recognized for the extraordinary care, commitment and engagement she displays every single day,” says AMH president Dave Braasch. “She leads with integrity and passion, while bringing a sense of purpose, making a positive difference every day to the people and communities we serve.”
The Chairman’s Award recognizes a member of the AMH medical staff for the contribution the physician makes to the hospital and community, active participation in hospital and medical staff departmental affairs, and the promotion and practice of outstanding customer service with hospital patients and staff.
“I consider myself privileged to work with the dedicated staff across the many departments of Alton Memorial Hospital,” says Dr. Bross. “I particularly wish to thank the nursing staff, with whom my duties are interwoven through most AMH units. Without their efforts and positive attitude, I would not be able to enjoy delivering my portion of the care.
“I also wish to thank the AMH Hospitalists group for its continuous support and friendship, and Dr. Rebecca Hoffman for giving me the opportunity to journey with the newest SIU Family Medicine Residency. Lastly, I cannot forget to thank our Family Medicine residents who make every day a new adventure of learning and growth.”
